EU-UK RELATIONS

In anticipation of a pivotal year of elections in 2024, the EU-UK Relations committee will be focussed on political and policy engagement, to adapt and contribute to the re-navigation of EU-UK relations. In the face of a UK General Election, European elections (and thus a new Parliamentary Partnership Assembly), a new Commission and a consent vote on the Northern Ireland Protocol, the committee is dedicated to being the platform for communication, engagement and knowledge for all stakeholders in EU-UK relations. We seek to rebuild relations from both sides of the channel by collaborating with key decision makers within the UK and EU parliaments, by highlighting key policies brought to us by our members that may need reform in order to provide the best possible outcome for both EU and UK businesses.

Focus:

  • UK – EU Politics
  • Implementation of the Windsor Framework
  • Implementation of the Trade Cooperation Agreement
  • UK Politics
  • EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly
  • UK-EU Trade

Regular events:

  • Regular briefings held with the UK Government on the status of trade between the UK and the EU
  • Networking events connecting policymakers in the European Union to businesses and our members

NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING:    June 2024           TBC

Ready to take an active role in shaping our committee's future work? The committee is open to all Full Members of the Chamber who are committed to participate and to drive it forward.
