Cyber & Technology Security Workshop
On the 9th of October from 15:00 to 16:30, the British Chamber of Commerce | EU & Belgium is organising a workshop for the Cyber & Technology Security pillar of our European Economic Security and Competitiveness Programme.
ln today’s rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape, cyber and technology security have become critical elements of national and economic resilience. With new diplomatic challenges and an increase in cyber threats from state and non-state actors, the EU and the UK face a shared imperative to strengthen their digital defences and regulatory frameworks.
This workshop will explore the growing necessity for coordinated responses to cybersecurity threats and technological challenges. Key discussions will focus on how both the EU and UK can leverage collaborative research and development, how they can bridge the regulatory divergences on security and AI systems and what can be done to secure dual-use technologies in the new digital age. The session will emphasise fostering innovation and domestic technological resilience to reduce dependency on external actors while ensuring strategic, long-term investments.
