What Next for the Universal PFAS Restrictions?

Join us for an insightful exploration into PFAS-related REACH restriction proposals. Mr Martijn Beekman from DG GROW at the European Commission will share his expertise and experiences in shaping chemical policy at both the national and international level.

Martijn Beekman - Policy Officer, DG Grow, European Commission

Since 2022, Mr Beekman has been responsible for the PFAS-related REACH restriction proposals at the European Commission, DG Grow. From 2001, he was involved in Dutch national and international chemical policy, initially at the Ministry of Environment, and later within the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). From 2016 to 2020, he served as the head of the Dutch Bureau REACH and CLP, where he was responsible for, among other things, substance evaluation, restriction, and authorization dossiers in the Netherlands. He received his education in environmental chemistry at the University of Utrecht.
